Login Assistance

When accessing some of the secure sites at Iscar Metals, you will often be prompted for login credentials.
This is necessary because often, the data you are trying to access is secure, and should not be available to the general public.
You will usually see two types of login prompts, one type for Windows XP users, and one type for Windows 2000 users.
For Windows XP users, you have two possible ways you might choose to enter your information.

The first image below is typical of what most users with Windows XP will experience when trying to login to one of Iscar Metals' secure websites. As you can see, your normal username is preceeded by the domain name, which in this case, is iscar_metals. In most cases, the username and the password are the same that you use to login to your work computer each day. For remote users, this would also be your VPN username and password.

The second image is exactly the same from the standpoint of how you are prompted, however, the username is entered differently. In this case, your normal username is followed by @us.iscar.com. This method should work for most users, and for some, is easier than trying to type the underscore symbol used in example #1. In either case, if one method does not work, try the other.

For those of you that might be using Windows 2000, your login screen should look something like the example below. As in the previous example, the username and password will be the same as your normal work login. In this case however, the domain is entered separately, instead of being combined with anything.

In all cases, saving the password is optional, and only recommended where you are the only person that uses that computer.
Note: Windows ME and Windows 98 are no longer supported. If you are using those systems, the login principles should be basically the same.
